Families come to us for safe, long-lasting, custom built swing sets that fit their yard, their style, and their kids perfectly. This guide walks you through every step of creating an Amish swing set that’s beautiful, durable, and uniquely yours.

Step 1: Start With The Basics

Before we design your perfect swing set, it helps to get familiar with your yard. First, measure the space you’re planning to use—just the length and width. That’ll help us figure out which set fits best and what fun add-ons (like slides or climbers) you’ll have room for.

Next, take a look at your yard’s slope. Ideally we have a flat spot for the base of the tower and swing beam. Not sure if there’s too much slope? Just snap a photo and send it our way. We’re happy to take a look.

Step 2: Explore & Get Inspired

Now that your yard is measured and ready, it’s time for the fun part—browsing our website! Pick your favorites from our vinyl swing set collection. Each one lists pricing, space requirements, and all the features included, so you can easily picture what might work in your backyard.

We recommend choosing a model that catches your eye and using it as a starting point. Watch the videos and scroll through photos. You’ll get a feel for what’s possible and what your kids might love most.

Most families find that browsing our gallery or starting with a standard design is the best way to spark ideas—just know that everything is customizable from there!

Step 3: Make It Yours

Once you’ve found a set (or a few!) you like, it’s time to make it your own. You can change the colors, add features, swap equipment—build off a standard set or start from scratch with something totally custom. Either way, there’s no extra charge to personalize.

When you’re ready, reach out—call, chat, or email one of our swing set designers. They’ll walk you through everything: making sure your set fits your yard, is laid out safely, and works within your budget.

We’ll work together to create a list of everything you want—from slides and swings to climbers, shade, and accessories. Then we’ll design a layout that brings it all together beautifully.

Step 4: Place Your Order

Once your design is finalized, we’ll ask for full payment to get everything moving and get you a spot on the installation calendar. If you'd prefer to split it into smaller payments, we can absolutely do that—we just ask that the full amount is received at least two weeks before installation. 

We accept credit card, check, or you can use Shop Pay Installments at checkout.

Step 5: Scheduling Your Installation

Once payment is received, your swing set will officially be added to our installation queue. Because safety is our number one priority we only use installers directly from the manufacturer, Star Quality.

Our average lead time is 6–8 weeks, though this can vary based on the season and your location. Sometimes we’re able to get a sneak peek at the installation calendar, so if we spot your estimated date earlier than expected, we’ll give you a heads-up to help with planning.

One week before your scheduled installation, a team member from Star Quality Swings will call to confirm the exact date and time.

We’ll keep you updated every step of the way, so you know exactly when the fun begins!

Step 6: Installation Day

The big day is here! When the crew arrives, they’ll start by walking the yard with you to confirm the exact placement of your swing set. Once everything looks good, they’ll get to work bringing your custom playset to life.

Kids are welcome to watch the process (it’s pretty exciting!), but please keep a safe distance—our team uses tools and carries heavy materials during assembly.

Most standard sets take 2 to 4 hours to install. Once the build is complete, you’ll do a quick walkthrough with the crew, sign off on the set, and just like that—it’s ready to play on immediately. Go ahead, test out that slide!
